Doris was born in Lima, Peru. She studied at the National University of San Marcos and obtained a Bachelor of Education with a specialty in languages. In addition, Doris also studied at the Cultural American Institute in the capital of Peru. From 1995 to 2013, she served as a classroom teacher in elementary, middle and high school. Upon arriving in the United States (USA), her professional work includes working with Mis Amigos and she worked as a lead teacher with pre-kindergarten students. She started at ISLA in 2016 in the RTI department as an educational assistant in mathematics and spanish, then she was coordinator of the mathematics area at RTI and was also a supervisor in the Before school program in “Aventuras”, She has been a kindergarten teacher to distance in 2020-2021. She currently will be a kindergarten teacher. She really enjoys sports activities like swimming and is delighted to teach kindergarten classes at ISLA.
